Ski world Gastein, Ski amadé, hiking and thermal spa

Ski world Gastein:

53 cable cars and lifts as well as 220 kilometers of slopes make the Gastein Valley one of the largest and most beautiful ski areas in Austria. This makes the Gastein ski region a winter, snow and adventure paradise for skiers and snowboarders. Here, family slopes, deep snow slopes, carving routes, freerides or even the wildest mogul slopes offer winter sports enthusiasts everything they could wish for in terms of snow fun.

The four Gastein ski areas are Dorfgastein-Großarl, Stubnerkogel-Angertal-Schlossalm, Graukogel and Sportgastein. They are all located in the alpine world of Salzburger Land and also form part of the supra-regional Ski amadé.

In addition to generously developed lift facilities for carefree skiing, Bergwelt Gastein also offers optimal conditions for freeriders. The Freeride Info Base, opened in 2011/12, provides information on current tips, conditions as well as warnings and thus makes an indispensable contribution to the safety of winter sports enthusiasts. Those who are still looking for even more adrenaline will certainly find it in the Snowpark Gastein. The fun park with half pipe is located at 1900 meters and can also be artificially snowed if required.

Of course, beginners are not neglected in Gastein. Experienced and certified ski and snowboard instructors accompany the youngest and beginners from their first turns in the snow to alpine challenges in open terrain. This makes learning and skiing fun!

A special treat among the ski schools is the Ski Race Academy, which trains the next generation of racers, provides speed to the curious or simply attracts onlookers.

But winter sports should not only be about speed and exercise. With the numerous huts and après-ski facilities in the Gastein ski area, skiers will never get bored after the descent. The offer ranges from rustic to modern, from alpine to summit hut.

Ski world amadé:

With its location in the Austrian provinces of Styria and Salzburg and over 270 ski lifts, the Ski amadé ski area is one of Europe’s largest winter sports areas. With the purchase of a Ski amadé pass you open access, in addition to the Gastein Valley, to such diverse, as well as enriching ski areas such as the Sportwelt St. Johann/Alpendorf, Wagrain, the Grossarl Valley, as well as the Hochkönig area. All these ski areas are easily accessible by car from the Alpenappartementhof.

Perfectly groomed slopes, state-of-the-art ski lifts and almost one hundred percent snow reliability await you, as 90% of the slopes are covered with artificial snow. So nothing stands in the way of winter sports fun. Pure joy of skiing meets an almost infinitely varied leisure offer, which satisfies every hunger. Various events around the boards, which mean the mountain world, enrich every season the inexhaustible offer of Gastein and the association Ski amadé. Take to the slopes and experience the unique combination of a fantastic alpine sports world and leisure fun.

Hiking World Gastein Valley:

Discover the Gastein mountains on a variety of hiking trails of all levels of difficulty. The varied excursion destinations can be reached for the most part via numerous comfortable lifts. The modern equipment of the Gastein mountain railroads makes a significant contribution to the undisturbed relaxation of the hikers.

Our Gastein hiking world includes hiking trails suitable for strollers as well as challenging routes.

In their alpine splendor, the four Gastein hiking mountains are just waiting to be conquered by young and old alike. On their heights or on their slopes, the mountains offer an incomparable panorama over valleys and wide peaks. Stubnerkogel, Graukogel, Schlossalm and Fulseck have ideal starting points for mountain hikers, climbers and those who still want to become one.

In addition to the already breathtaking hiking trails, there are numerous attractions that are suitable as a destination or intermediate stage of hikes. Among them, the 140-meter suspension bridge on the Stubnerkogel should be highlighted: On the swinging rope construction you can experience thrills at an altitude of 2300 meters – or admire the view from the adjacent panorama restaurant. In addition, you should not miss the viewing platform Glocknerblick. From here you have a fantastic view of the Alps, especially the Grossglockner, which at 3798 meters is the highest mountain in Austria. Another attraction for those with a head for heights is the rock path with the option of a circular route, where again a spectacular distant view opens up.

But not only the mountains have a lot to offer nature and sports enthusiasts, you won’t miss anything in the valley either. With the award-winning Bewegungsarena Gastein project, the region has a particularly attractively designed, interactive sports experience. 120 kilometers of trails lead through the valley on signposted paths and are thus ideal for hiking, running, walking or hiking.

The highlight of the Bewegungsarena? The eleven routes bear the names of prominent Austrian athletes and demand a different range of performance on their routes. So you can choose the route according to your current level of fitness and training habits. Especially in summer, the Bewegungsarena thus becomes an ideal play and training destination, during which you also explore the beautiful Gastein Valley on foot.

Spa World Gastein:

On an area of 32,000 m2 the water worlds of the Alpentherme seduce with a wide range of leisure fun and recreational opportunities for the whole family.

Whether it’s the spa, wellness, beauty or health resort offerings for relaxation seekers or the sports, fitness and adventure world for active vacationers: the highest quality and exceptional standards are writ large here.

Therme

Seven different areas of the Therme Gastein are divided into Relax World, Sauna World, Family World, Ladies World, Beauty Residence, Fitness Center and Gastronomy. Changing weekly highlights provide variety, and ladies’, seniors’, men’s and children’s days provide offers and discounts specially adapted to the respective needs.

Culinary demands are also not left unsatisfied at Therme Gastein. In addition to the self-service restaurant for spa guests, the Alpentherme also has an à la carte restaurant for bathing guests. Naturally, healthy cuisine is a priority in both.

After all, the thermal cure is an integral part of Hofgastein, which was named a “spa” in 1936, and the right to draw thermal water from the springs of Bad Gastein was granted as early as 1820. A special highlight of the Therme Gastein is therefore the thermal cure with genuine Gastein thermal water. The noble gas radon, which is contained in the thermal water, leads to demonstrably positive effects on the health of body and mind, which remain noticeable up to one year after the treatment. So with a health vacation in the Alpentherme you can only enrich yourself.
